ARNOLD COOK
 

     Mr.  Arnold Cook, 76, of Woodbury died December 24, 2009 in McMinnville, TN.  He was born January 9, 1933 in Woodbury, TN.  His parents were the late Palmer J. Cook and Ira (Elkins) Cook.  He is survived by a brother, P.J. (Mary Jean) Cook of Woodbury; four sisters, Wilma (Edmond) Prater of Clarksville; Louise Lovvorn of McMinnville; Sue Redmon of McMinnville and Sherrie Faye (R.C.) Kee of Summerville, TN.  Mr. Cook lived in Woodbury 75 years and about the last year in McMinnville.  He was a member of the Church of Christ and  attended the Unity Church of Christ.  He was a minister for over 50 years.  He was elected to serve as Cannon County Trustee in years past.  He also owned and operated a furniture store until his retirement.  He was also a skilled checker player.  He attended and played in checker tournaments all over the country.  Funeral services were Dec. 27, 2009 in the Smith Funeral Home chapel.  Al Bugg, Roger Hamlet and Dorris Hughes officiated.  Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Unity Church of Christ building fund.
